Resonator Guitars

The Resonator Guitars are built in the open soundpost and baffle design pioneered by Tim Sheerhorn. All quality hardware, with choice of Beard, Sheerhorn or Quarterman cones. I have the following choice of timbers available:

- Tasmanian Blackwood;
- Curly Maple; and
- Mahogany.

All timbers are finished in a high gloss Nitro-Cellulose lacquer.

Six String Guitars

I build four steel string guitar sizes, which includes: Parlour - 00 - 000 or OM and Dreadnaught. All can be built with 12 or 14 fret necks with either slotted or solid peg heads. Finger board widths can be custom fitted to suit the players hand or playing style. Bracing can be built and voiced to suit the style and sound the player requires. The instruments are set up for action and string gauge as preferred by the customer. This ensures the guitar is completely comfortable to play as possible. High gloss nitro-cellulose finish.

I have a love for the style and tradition of the F5 type mandolin and always have one in the works. They are built as closely as possible to the 'Loyd Loar Era' Gibson F5 models, using  timbers: Adirondak Red Spruce top; Curly Maple back, sides and neck; Triple bound in white and black ivoroid binding; inlaid with 'Flowerpot' or 'Fern' peg head inlays; and, Sunburst stain with a spirit varnish French polished finish.

Tenor Ukuleles in mahogany top, back and sides, with an Abalone Rosette to compliment the richness of the mahogany top. Very nice tone and volume. Spirit varnish finish.

"I have played some of John's Resonator Guitars, and no one makes them any better. I've played Dobro's from here to Tennessee, North Carolina, and Adelaide...John's are right up there at the top!!"
